It’s time for me to get out of town for a songwriting retreat. I’m looking at a couple of different options for where and when, there are some great options… Mendocino is looking pretty good or big sur, somewhere near the ocean (though I did Big Sur last time). I thought about the Oregon coast as well, but there’s probably no need to drive that far (takes away from the writing time). I have a few cabins I’m looking at… really looking forward to it.
Otherwise… upcoming performances with Entamoeba to look forward to. Unfortunately Aaron Priskorn left the group… definitely miss his energy and musicality, but it means more creative opportunity for the rest of us (see below for an update on what he is up to). We had a great rehearsal last week. Entamoeba, BTW, will be performing at the Dolores Park Cafe next Friday, November 5.
Entamoeba had David Boyce of the infamous Broun Fellinis in for a rehearsal a couple of weeks ago… just a freakin’ amazing musician. He was able to climb aboard and lay down some cool stuff pretty much right away. I think we’re not 100% sure if we are going to replace Aaron or go as a three piece, but David is an awesome musician who would be really cool to play with.
Speaking of Entamoeba… I should mention that Chris Evans, our cello player in Entamoeba, currently is artist in residence at The Luggage Store in the Tenderloin in San Francisco. Stop by she has some interesting things planned. We’re trying to find a time for all of us to work together on some improvisational music there as well… probably in November… I’ll update you.
Aaron Piskorn, BTW has a couple of performances coming up by the way, see below for his performances coming up.
Along For The Ride had a few weeks off, but we were back in the rehearsal space earlier this week… great fun. We’re still working on the CD… we have one song that has keeper lead vocals so far, so we have a long way to go, but we will get it done.
More stuff to come…
